Yeshivath Sefarad

Yeshivath Sefarad, is the masterpiece of the community, and currently is the only authentic Sefaradi non Ashkenazi influenced Yeshiva in all Sefarad.

It has the old structure of Yeshivah unlike the recent Ashkenazi invented Belaussian (Volozhin) yeshiva style, Yeshivath Sefarad is not devided to the division used to have nowadays based on Ashkenazi Yeshiva that were built based on Christian colleges, but it is exactly how yeshivath in Sefarad were operated 1000 years ago and backward.

The old students are not seperated from the young students but all are learning together from 13 years old and farther.

Unlike Ashkenzi Yeshivas (as well as Ashkenzi influenced yeshivas) that learn only Talmud and have almost zero knowledge in the bible and other subjects, in our Yeshiva the students divide their time into 3: 1/3 part is for the bible,  1/3 part is for Halakha, 1/3 part for Talmud, as the authentic Sefaradic tradition.

The way and the methods of learning are Ashkenazi free but pure Sefaradi. The Mishna and Talmud are learnt with the interpretations of Geonim, Rabenu chananel, Rif, and Maimonides interpretations due to their chain of transmission from generation to generation which is stronger and more reliable than the Ashkenazi interpretation, which is largely based on speculation and as a solution to problems or contradictions which raised by them, even if those solutions at the cost of distance from reality.

The learning in our Yeshiva is not a sport or just time occupation, but it a has a goal: knowing and understanding Halacha practically along with understanding the thinking of Chazal, as well as to apply the studies in their own life and learnning to love the truth and to confess the truth. This is what makes the this Yeshiva students unique.

The best students who desereved are becoming Sefaradi Rabbis, and based on their wish, are sent further to other communities, to influence all the goodness they achieved here.

Faithful to the words of authentic Sefaradi Maimonides, our yeshiva educated and emphasizes earning a living with dignity, and not making a living from Torah, its study, or from rabbinate. Every rabbi must have a profession to make a living from and engage in Torah only on a voluntary basis.

In our Yeshiva all students learn - for free -Slaughtering, Nikur, Holy writings making (Sefer Torah, Tefilin, Mezuzas) and more practical things, but with 2 stipulations: First, to transmit this further to other people as much as exactly they can without changing of what they were given, and secondly to do it for free, exactly as they got it for free. That is all.

Who can join the Yeshiva?
Simply, every religious jew that has the chracter of admiring the truth, as well as Balle Teshuva, meaning the one who returns to religious observance. We teach anything that is needed for living jewish life, from reading properly to praying and the necessary knowledge. Those who are advenced in the religion help those who are beginners. We never leave a brother behind.

Does it costs something?
No. Torah is taught for free, for any religious Jew who is interested in.

Should I sit in Yeshiva from the morning to the evening?
No. You should have some occupation in a part of the day to support yourself and your family, and in the rest of the time (its length depends in your time needs in your job) is for Torah, unless you are reach and can let yourself do so.  That is what Rabenu Moshe (Maimonides) says:

גדולי חכמי ישראל היו מהם חוטבי עצים, ומהם שואבי מים, ומהם סומין, ואף על פי כן היו עוסקין בתורה ביום ובלילה, והם מכלל מעתיקי השמועה איש מפי איש מפי משה רבנו

"The greater Sages of Israel included wood choppers, water drawers, and blind men. Despite these [difficulties], they were occupied with Torah study day and night and were included among those who transmitted the Torah's teachings from [master] to [student in the chain stretching back to] Moses, our teacher."
